As a team of adoption experts, we are knowledgeable and experienced in the emotional and logistical complexity of adoption. By the time you are here, we know you’ve made difficult decisions and have experienced a wide range of emotions regarding adoption. For birth parents, you may feel worried, uncertain, guilty, and for prospective adopters, you may feel scared, anxious, hopeful.
We also know that without matching, there is no adoption. Unfortunately, private adoption agencies and licensees have waitlists and cannot profile all of the available prospective adopters to birth parents. This is where Ontario Adoption Matching (OAM) comes in.
You have been through a lot and we want to make the matching step as comfortable as possible for you. This is why we designed a place specifically for Ontario prospective adopters and birth parents to connect.

For birth parents, your search process will be a little easier as you won’t have to spend endless hours viewing profiles from across the country. OAM helps you to search only in Ontario cities for the right family for your child.
For prospective adopters, you will easily present your authentic selves to birth families through profiles that hold photos and descriptions that represent the real you.
I’m Lori Rosove, the director of OAM
I’m a registered social worker with 25 years of experience as an Ontario approved adoption practitioner. During my time in practice, I was dedicated to creating support resources for families to better manage the inherent challenges of adoption. These resources included support groups, parenting courses and books (23 Voices of Adopted Youth and Rosie's Family: An adoption story).
Adoption matching requires the same attention to support as it is the pivotal element for birth parents and prospective adopters in the adoption process. It is where two families come together in an intense relationship for the benefit of the child. This is why we offer transparency and respect to both birth parents and prospective adopters during the critical matching step.
